School Counselors & Educational Consultants
Welcome to InLikeMe!
School Counselors
We know first-hand that college-bound students (and their parents) rely on you for helpful information and advice. We also know from personal experience that most counselors are always on the look-out for quality resources. We are glad you are checking out InLikeMe. We hope our site, and its many resources, will be helpful to you and your students.
It is no surprise to you that more students are heading off to college than ever before, and that college admissions has become increasingly competitive. In 2009 more than 65% of the estimated 3 million graduating seniors will be going to college. The growing number of college-bound students has fueled intense competition for admission at many colleges and universities.
InLikeMe was founded to overcome frustration with the fragmented nature of the college planning and application process. There are numerous resources, advisory services and commercial web sites with varying levels of quality and relevance. But none seem to tie it all together in one practical, easy-to-use site. Our goal is to be a gateway to this critical set of advice, information search, actions and decisions leading to a higher level of success and a lower level of stress.
To pull all the pieces together, we obsessively scoured the web for resources, read countless books and other publications and participated in the college planning and admission process for our own high school children. The result, we hope you will agree, is a user-friendly site, organized around the common-sense steps that a teenager would find comfortable, accessible and helpful. We strive to be a Guide to the College Guides with a site packed full of useful information, commentary and advice along with direct links to hundreds of resources and tools.
Select one of our tabs -- PLANNING, TESTING, SEARCHING, APPLYING, PAYING, etc. -- and you'll find numerous pages of useful information. Check out our Web Links to access many excellent Internet resources for college-bound students. InlikeMe provides direct links to numerous third-party sites. Click on a category to browse our list of sites and descriptions. We also have a special section for ATHLETES and one focused on IVY-League / Highly Competitive Colleges.
InLikeMe is a community site and we are continuously seeking opportunities to improve and expand our web site and information base. We welcome and appreciate your input and advice! Please use our convenient contact form to share your thoughts, corrections and web link suggestions with us.
